Capturing a photo is taking a moment and turning it into forever.

— Jake Elmwood on Photography

On an afternoon of contemplation on what things mean, how they work, and the overall contemplation of things in general, I realized that when you take a photo… that photo becomes ever and always available.

Photography is all about taking a moment and turning it into forever.

Of course, forgetting the ability to lose the photo (whether physical or digital), that photo will always reside somewhere, whether in the ashes of a burned Polarioid, in the depth of memories of a person, or in the small components of a hard-drive or flash memory of a digital device, that photo is somewhere; it is forever.
